Back to School equipped to succeed
Our goal this year is to equip 1,500 youngsters in need with backpacks and school supplies, but we are changing the way we finance this annual effort. We hope to purchase, from an outside vendor, pre-packed boxes of school supplies appropriate to each grade level. We will supplement this with a backpack. We need money more than school supplies for this year’s campaign.
      Any support you can provide is appreciated, but a $100 donation will get 5 children ready, ready to start the school year with a box of school supplies and a backpack, and a $20 donation will send one child back to school fully equipped to compete and succeed. We hope you can consider such a sponsorship by June 1.
      We believe it is essential for youngsters to be prepared to succeed in the classroom. Equipping them with the right supplies puts them on an equal footing with their peers and boosts their confidence. Rock Bottom fundraiser May 23!
The date for our Rock Bottom Brewery Fundraiser in Orland Park has been changed to 6 p.m. Thurs., May 23. Please join us as we tap some delicious Belgian brown ale, available in $5 TWC pint glasses you can take home. A portion of the beer sales as well as 10% of food sales will go to TWC. The evening will also include a split the pot raffle and a small silent auction. Come out and share in the fun! We hope to see you there!

Nu2u needs housewares donations
Together We Cope′s resale shop, Nu2u, is in need of housewares donations at this time. Items needed include gently used dishes and glassware, cooking utensils, serving dishes and home decorating items. Revenue generated from sales at the resale shop is used to support Together We Cope programs for south suburban families in crisis.
      Donations can be brought to our back door from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mon., Tues., Wed. and Fri.; from 2 to 7 p.m. on Thurs.; and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sat.

Walk the walk or donate to the TWC account at GCFD
Send a donation directly to the Together We Cope food account at the Greater Chicago Food Depository and/or raise funds by walking with us at the GCFD′s 28th Annual Hunger Walk Saturday, June 29. Transportation to and from Tinley Park will be provided. We plan to be finished and back in Tinley Park by noon. The Hunger Walk is an enjoyable step by step way to raise funds to feed struggling local families. Join us.
